Cressi Reaction Pro Fins

Cressi Reaction Pro Fins

The Cressi Reaction Pro are full-foot (closed heel) shoe fins built with an injected polypropylene structure. Polypropylene transmits kicking energy almost instantaneously to the blade, without the energy losses that occur through soft elastomer transition zones. The “shoe-under-blade” design rigidly bonds the foot to the blade with no flexible junction, maximizing propulsive efficiency.

The three-material injection construction combines long-term structural rigidity (polypropylene blade) with softer contact zones in the shoe to reduce hotspots (flexible elastomer and compact elastomer). The manufacturer offers a lifetime guarantee on the blade for sporting use.

Its main limitation: these fins are designed for bare feet or very thin neoprene socks — they do not accommodate 5–7 mm booties, making them unsuitable for cold-water diving or dry suits. For those environments, an open-heel adjustable fin is the right choice. Note that MercadoLibre AR lists the earlier “Cressi Reaction” (without “Pro”), which has a simpler shoe design — they are different products. The Reaction Pro is mainly available through specialist Argentine distributors such as Scubaires or direct importers.

When to use it in Argentina

These are full-foot fins designed for barefoot use or with a thin neoprene sock. In Las Grutas or Mar del Plata in summer, with a 1–2 mm sock or barefoot, they work well and slip on quickly from a boat or shore. They are not designed for thick 5 mm or heavier booties.

They are not the choice for strong currents at Punta Loma or for drysuit diving in the Beagle Channel — there divers should use open-heel fins (adjustable strap or spring straps) that accommodate thick booties.
