Cressi F1 Mask

The Cressi F1 is a single-lens mask with an ultra-low profile and an internal volume of 135 cm³. The minimalist frameless bridge is its most distinctive feature: it allows the skirt to be pinched from outside during freedive equalization without the nose-pocket obstruction found on framed masks. The high-quality silicone skirt is soft and adapts well to varied facial shapes, though very wide or prominent facial profiles may find the seal less consistent than on dual-lens masks with a broader skirt perimeter.

The single central lens delivers a wide horizontal field of vision with no blind spot from a central bridge post. The Black version uses dark silicone to reduce lateral glare — preferred by underwater photographers and freedivers. The low internal volume means less air is needed to equalize the mask with depth, an advantage on deep dives and freediving.

Limitations are consistent with the design: the single flat lens does not accept corrective spherical lenses (available in the Big Eyes Evolution); the low profile slightly reduces the inferior field of view compared to the Big Eyes Evolution. It is the recommended choice for divers who combine scuba with recreational freediving, or who prioritize low profile and minimal weight. Skill level: open water and above, especially freedivers.

When to use it in Argentina

A low-volume, single-lens mask aimed at freedivers or scuba divers wanting a compact option. For recreational freediving in Las Grutas or Mar Chiquita it works well thanks to easier equalization.

For deeper wrecks in Mar del Plata, where wider peripheral vision helps read the structure, many divers prefer a twin-lens mask with more side view. In the Beagle Channel with a drysuit and thick hood, make sure the strap sits over the neoprene without leaks.
